Andrea is enthusiastic about supporting all families as they navigate the many stages of parenthood from pregnancy through postpartum, during their lactation journeys and through the early years of parenting. As your postpartum doula, she will assist with newborn care, babywearing, light household chores, feeding challenges and she will support your decisions as you discover your parenting style. Andrea enjoys helping parents create plans for their physical recovery after birth, including setting boundaries with postpartum visitors to prioritize the health of the baby and the physical and emotional well being of the birthing parent. For parents out of the immediate postpartum stage, Andrea offers support while you consider childcare options, introduce solid foods, discover how to travel with children and practice loving guidance during the many physical and emotional developmental changes during the toddler years.

After 12 years of experience as a full time nanny caring for multiple children from birth to age 6, Andrea became a volunteer leader with the free lactation support group, La Leche League. Following the birth of her second child, she completed her postpartum doula training with DONA and then followed her passion for lactation support by becoming a Certified Lactation Counselor. In her free time, she enjoys reading about lactation, parenting, historical fiction and light fantasy. You will often find Andrea playing board games with her husband and three children, going for family walks and attending free outdoor events offered by the public schools, library and town.

I spoke with many lactation specialists in trying to establish breastfeeding and Andrea is truly the only person who conveyed deeply caring about helping me make breastfeeding work, but without any judgement or expectation that this was the "correct" thing to do. It really felt like it was purely coming from a place of wanting what would make me feel most confident moving forward as a new mom.

Andrea's kindness and approachability was such a gift during my postpartum journey. Right off the bat, she listened with empathy and helped me create goals based off of my family's needs and values without any judgement. I truly felt like she was an ally along my lactation and postpartum journey. She created a space for me to be vulnerable and was always willing to listen to my struggles adjusting to motherhood while also gently offering advice and suggestions.
